Sameer Malkan directed the action comedy film Main Khiladi Tu Anari in 1994. The scriptwriting credit goes to Sachin Bhowmick. Ratan Jain produced and Dharmesh Darshan directed the 2000 musical romantic drama Dhadkan. Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, Suniel Shetty, and Mahima Chaudhry are the main actors. The film, based on the novel Wuthering Heights, also features Sharmila Tagore, Parmeet Sethi, Kiran Kumar, Sushma Seth, and Manjeet Kullar in supporting roles. Here is how the story develops: Despite Anjali's (Shilpa's) strong feelings for Dev (Suniel), her family insists that she marry Ram (Akshay) instead. Dev returns to Anjali's side years later, but by that point, she's fallen for Ram.

Because Anjali comes from a wealthy family and Dev does not, her family forbids the marriage and instead arranges for her to marry Ram, who is just as wealthy as her and lives with his heartless stepmother and siblings. Anjali disregards Ram's disrespect because she doesn't love him. Anjali keeps thinking about Dev, even though Ram is still quite affectionate with her and his family. Then Ram takes a stand, demanding that his relatives stop bothering him and his wife. As Anjali grows fond of Ram, Dev shows up—but he's a multi-millionaire, cunning, and hell-bent on winning Anjali over by any means necessary—rather than the poor Dev she knew before.

Indian (Prime Video; ZEE5 [OTTplay Premium])

N. Maharajan and Dharmendra, under the Vijayta Films banner, made the action flick Indian in 2001. The film features Sunny Deol, Shilpa Shetty, Danny Denzongpa, Raj Babbar, Mukesh Rishi, and Rahul Dev; it is a remake of the director's own Tamil film, Vallarasu.

Anjali (Shilpa) is DCP Rajashekhar Azad's (Sunny) wife, and they have two children together. Rajashekhar finds out that his father-in-law, DGP Surya Pratap Singh (Raj), is also associated with the infamous terrorist Waseem Khan (Mukesh), who has ties to business magnate Shankar Singhania (Danny). Anjali decides to leave Rajashekhar after he murders Surya (Surendra Pal). Rajashekhar, with the help of some young men who had given up on joining the police service, was able to eliminate Shankar and Waseem Khan. When Anjali discovers her father's scandals, she reunites with Rajashekhar.

The action-drama film Rishtey was released by Indra Kumar on December 6, 2002. Anil Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, and Amrish Puri starred in this Indra Kumar-directed movie, which was based on the 1987 film Over the Top. The film's box office take was about par.

It was all a plot by Yashpal to end their marriage, it turns out. Komal and her father abandon their marriage. She has a son, but Yashpal is hell-bent on getting rid of the one thing that could bring her daughter and Suraj back together as soon as possible. He arranges for assassins to murder the infant, but Suraj and his son are able to flee. He takes his son with him when they relocate to a new, unnamed area, and the locals help him raise him. Shilpa Shetty portrays Vaijanti, an eccentric fisherwoman whom Suraj's kid regards as a mother figure and a source of friendship. As Vaijanti grows to love Suraj, she wishes he could reciprocate her feelings. Despondent and lonely, Komal sees her son with Suraj. Komal and Suraj get into a heated custody dispute.

Phir Milenge (Prime Video)

The 2004 drama film Phir Milenge featured Shilpa Shetty, Abhishek Bachchan, and Salman Khan, helmed by Revathi. Anubhav Sinha's 2005 action movie Dus is based on the experiences of seven fictional officers from the Indian Special Investigations Team (SIT).
